Loy Luo Space: Body Theater - Tragicomedy

Press Release

The body is a container of the most disparate contents, a vehicle for emotions humans cannot always master. So often, we are asked to correct the part of us that is more rebellious, to go slower because the world runs too fast, but life is made of moments: just as the THEATER takes place ACT after ACT, SCENE after SCENE, without first writing the PARTS.

Not everything happens thanks to a SCRIPT: life surprises by suddenly opening the CURTAIN.

The presence of Matteo Galvano at this event is proof, thanks to the transmission of good energies between various ACTORS in a scene. In each of his works, people interact with world-famous architecture, creating an unpublished story about figures that appear to us every day as standardized. Who would have thought the "Guggenheim" could become a deejay's console? And "The Egg," the cradle of a new life?

Edward Kai Chiu's works remind us of a stage embellished with repetitive mandala-like patterns. At first, these patterns contrast with the holographic paper in the background but are brought into harmony and balance with the human figure in the foreground.

Loy Luo is mainly fascinated by abstract art, a world of subtle harmony and seemingly peaceful energy that tempts one to go deep into it. Her rare return to the worldly world happened during the pandemic. Too many situations of facing homelessness stimulated her to experience the joys and sorrows of life again. However, she does not want to exaggerate what has made us more vulnerable; instead, she gazes at the stage play in which she is present, like a theater audience.

You imagined here as part of a PLATEA (audience), so enjoy this SHOW!
